RCMP arrest woman for impaired driving following single-vehicle crash

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested a woman for impaired driving following a crash in Elderbank.

On July 17, at approximately 9:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the 6000 block of Hwy. 357. Upon arrival, officers observed an Acura MDX in a ditch off the roadway and a woman standing outside the vehicle.    

An officer spoke with the woman and observed signs of impairment.

The driver, a 46-year-old woman from Halifax Regional Municipality, was arrested for impaired driving.  She was transported to the Lower Sackville RCMP Detachment, where she provided two breath samples registering 200 mg% and 190 mg%.

The woman was released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.  

Everyone has a role to play in keeping our roads safe.  Motorists who plan to consume alcohol or drugs need to arrange a safe ride to their destination. Suspected impaired drivers can be reported by calling 911.
