RCMP charges Yarmouth man with child sexual abuse and exploitation offences

Yarmouth Town RCMP has charged a Yarmouth man following an investigation involving child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM).
On August 5, Yarmouth Town RCMP received information that a man in the area had created CSAEM.
On August 11, officers with both Yarmouth Town and Yarmouth Rural RCMP, as well as Yarmouth Town General Investigation Section, executed a search warrant at a residence on New Rd. in Dayton. Electronic evidence was seized.
As a result of the investigation, Robert Troy Doucette, also known as Troy Robert Crosby, 55, of Dayton, has been charged with:
- Possessing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
- Making Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on August 31.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone who believes they may’ve been victimized by Robert Troy Doucette, known to some as Troy Robert Crosby, is encouraged to contact police.
In Nova Scotia, it’s mandatory to report suspected child sexual abuse and exploitation material. Anyone who encounters such material must report it to their local police or to Canada's national tipline: www.cybertip.ca. Failure to report may result in penalties under the Child Pornography Reporting Act.
