RCMP investigating vehicle-motorcycle collision in West Chezzetcook

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a vehicle-motorcycle collision in West Chezzetcook. 

On August 16, at approximately 4:30 p.m., RCMP officers, EHS, and fire services responded to a collision involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Hwy. 207 and Bellefontaine Rd. 

Officers learned that a Toyota Matrix turned left onto Hwy. 207 from Bellefontaine Rd. and was involved in a collision with a Honda motorcycle travelling south on Hwy. 207.      

The driver of the Matrix, a 28-year-old man from West Chezzetcook, was treated by EHS at the scene and released.  The driver of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old man from Grand Desert, was transported by EHS to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger on the motorcycle, a child from Grand Desert, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS LifeFlight. 

A collision reconstructionist attended scene.  The intersection of Hwy. 207 and Bellefontaine Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened. 

The investigation is ongoing.
