RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating an impaired driving offence following a single-vehicle crash in Beaver Bank.
On September 6, at approximately 1:40 a.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Beaver Bank Rd. where the driver was suspected as being impaired.
Upon arrival, officers located a Honda Civic on the roadway with a man behind the wheel. An officer spoke with the driver and observed signs of impairment. A roadside breath test was given to the driver, which resulted in a fail.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from Bedford, was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the Lower Sackville RCMP Detachment where he provided two breath samples registering 130 mg% each.
The man was released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
Everyone has a role to play in keeping our roads safe. Motorists who plan to consume alcohol or drugs need to arrange safe rides to their destinations. Suspected impaired drivers can be reported by calling 911.
