RCMP charges two men for attempted murder in Beechville

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has charged two men with attempted murder and other serious offences after an incident of intimate partner violence in Beechville.
On September 15, at approximately 7:55 a.m., police and EHS responded to a report that two men tried to kill a woman known to them the previous evening after a dispute at a residence.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries. At approximately 8:16 a.m., officers safely arrested one of the men at the home. The second man was safely arrested that afternoon in Dartmouth.
A 32-year-old man and a 24-year-old man from Beechville have each been charged with:
- Attempt to Commit Murder
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Assault by Choking, Suffocating or Strangling
- Assault
- Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Unlawful Confinement
- Overcoming Resistance to Commission of Offence
- Mischief
Both men appeared in Halifax Provincial Court on September 16 and remain in custody. The 32-year-old man is scheduled to appear next on September 18 and the 24-year-old man is scheduled to appear next on October 14.
To help protect the identity of the victim, Nova Scotia RCMP will not publish the names of the men charged, and no further information will be released at this time.
