Three people are facing charges after the Colchester County District RCMP arrested them in relation to a home invasion in Truro Heights.

On October 3, at approximately 3:30 a.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Parkwood Dr.

Officers learned that four people had forced their way into the home while the residents were inside. One of the women, armed with a knife, threatened to stab the residents if the two men accompanying her weren’t allowed entry.

The women left shortly afterward, leaving the men at the residence. The men then assaulted the residents, a 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, before fleeing in a Hyundai Elantra.

Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers with Truro Police Service later located the Elantra and arrested its four occupants.

Lucas Charles Brooks, 31, of Sipekne’katik, has been charged with Assault (two counts), Uttering Threats (two counts), and Mischief. He was remanded into custody and appeared in Truro Provincial Court on October 5.

A 34-year-old man from Bayside and a 19-year-old woman from Truro are also facing charges in relation to the incident and are scheduled to appear in court on December 16.

The fourth person was released without charge.
