Colchester County District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash involving a stolen vehicle that occurred near Brookfield.
On October 20 at approximately 5:55 a.m., RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a crash in the 1600-block of Hwy. 2. On arrival, officers learned that a southbound vehicle had left the road and struck trees and a power pole.
The driver and only occupant, a youth from Brookfield, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators later learned that the vehicle, a blue Volkswagen Rabbit, was reported stolen from Stewiacke.
Hwy. 2 was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the youth’s loved ones at this difficult time.
