On October 23, SWN SCEU, with assistance from Annapolis District RCMP, attended a residence in the 15,000 block of Hwy. 1 to execute a search warrant.
At the property, a 39-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were arrested. Another man was arrested at a separate location.
During the search, officers seized a rifle with a suppressor, a shotgun, a semi-automatic rifle, multiple prohibited magazines, ammunition-making equipment, and 10,000 rounds of various calibres of ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, Lawrence Richard Toole, 54, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (four counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (three counts)
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized (three counts)
- Careless Storage of a Firearm (four counts)
Toole was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court on December 14.
The woman was wanted for failing to appear in court in relation to outstanding charges. She was released and given a new court date. The 26-year-old man was released without charge.
The investigation is ongoing with support from the RCMP’s National Weapons Enforcement Support Team.
