The RCMP’s Colchester Community Action Team has charged a man following the execution of a search warrant.

On October 30, as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, officers with the Colchester Community Action Team arrested two men after they left a storage facility in Bible Hill. A subsequent search of the vehicle they were travelling in and a storage unit resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of cash, cell phones and cocaine.

Malique Daeshawn Olowu, 23, of Debert, has been charged with Possession of Proceeds of Crime (cash), Money Laundering, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

Olowu was remanded into custody and appeared in Truro Provincial Court on November 2. He’s scheduled to return to court later in November.

The other man was released without charge.

Nova Scotians are encouraged to report criminal activity, including the illegal sale of drugs, to their local police. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
