Gjoa Haven RCMP ask for public assistance with fire investigation.

On April 12, 2026, at approximately 7:20 a.m, the Gjoa Haven RCMP received a report that two sea cans were on fire. 

When police arrived, the Gjoa Haven Volunteer Fire Department was on scene and had the fire under control. The damage was confined to both sea cans, which were used as storage by the Kikitak House Association. Police were also notified that the office windows to the housing association were damaged. 

The cause of the fire and the damage to the office building are still under investigation. The Gjoa Haven RCMP are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information related to the incident to contact them at 867-360-0123.
