The Nunavut RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating the death of Mosesie “Levi” Pishuktie (age 35).
Background:
On August 16, 2025, at approximately 2:50 a.m, the Iqaluit RCMP received a request for assistance from Iqaluit EMS to a residence on Tasilik street. When police arrived, they located EMS treating Pishuktie for serious injuries. Pishuktie was transported to the Qikiqtani General Hospital and then medivac to Ottawa, Ontario. On August 25, 2025, Pishuktie died from his injuries.
The Nunavut RCMP’s Major Crime Unit took over the investigation and are investigating Pishuktie’s death as a homicide.
