Nunavut RCMP charge a male with multiple offenses

Iqaluit RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS), with assistance from the Pangnirtung RCMP, arrested a male at the Iqaluit International Airport. Police also seized $16,020.00

On May 11, 2026, Yahya Mohammed (age 27), was arrested when he arrived at Iqaluit, Nunavut from Pangnirtung, Nunavut. He had a warrant for his arrest out of Saskatoon and was on court conditions to reside at a residence in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. 

Police have charged Mohammed with: 

• Two counts of breach of a release order, contrary to Section 145(5) C.C.
• Two counts of breach probation, contrary to Section 733.1 C.C.
• Possession of Proceeds of Crime, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) C.C. 

On May 12, 2026, Mohammed appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is schedule for May 14, 2026, in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
