Fire Damage
Remains of shack destroyed by fire and damage to sea can.

On June 25, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m, the Iqaluit RCMP responded to a report of a shack fire at the West 40 area of Iqaluit, Nunavut. 

The fire was extinguished by the Iqaluit Fire Department. The shack was destroyed and the sea can next to the fire was damaged. There was no report of injuries. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Iqaluit RCMP are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information related to the incident to contact them at 867-975-0123.
