Clyde River man wanted following “Shelter in Place” alert

In the evening of July 7, 2026, Clyde River RCMP received a complaint of a distraught male who was reported to be driving an All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV) carrying a firearm.
At approximately 10:10 p.m., the Nunavut RCMP published social media post, advising residents of Clyde River to “Shelter in Place”.
Police located the male who agreed to surrender himself and his firearm to police. On July 8, 2026, at 4:00 a.m., the “Shelter in Place” was lifted.
The man did not surrender to police and is now wanted on a Nunavut wide arrest warrant. Norman Natanine (age 25) is wanted for the following:
- Possession of a firearm while prohibited, Section 117.01 C.C.
- Dangerous Operation, Section 320.13(1) C.C.
- Breach of Probation, Section 733.1(1) C.C.
- Uttering Threats, Section 264.1(1)(a) C.C.
Natanine is also wanted on another Nunavut wide arrest warrant that was issued on June 3, 2026, for the following:
- Assault, Section 266 C.C
- Three counts of Breach Probation, Section 733.1(1) C.C
Natanine is described as:
- Age 25
- 5’4” feet tall
- 170 lbs
- Inuk male
- Black hair
- Brown eyes
- Stocky build
