Arviat RCMP requesting public assistance following motor vehicle collision

Arviat RCMP are requesting the public's assistance as part of an ongoing investigation into a motor vehicle collision that occurred in the community.

On Monday, August 31, 2026, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Arviat RCMP responded to a collision at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 7th Street involving a white Ford F-150 pickup truck and a yellow Can-Am ATV.

As a result of the collision, the ATV driver was ejected from their vehicle and sustained injuries.

During the investigation at the accident scene, a 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with Operation While Impaired, contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. 

The investigation remains ongoing, and Arviat RCMP are seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have information relevant to the investigation.
