Inuvik RCMP charge three with drug trafficking offences

The Inuvik RCMP have charge three men from Edmonton, Alberta with drug trafficking offences after a drug investigation.
On January 25th, 2025 while acting on information received from the public, officers with the Inuvik RCMP conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, the officers located three males from Edmonton, Alberta including one male who was on bail conditions to not be in the Northwest Territories.
During the arrest of this male, officers located suspected cocaine and weapons including a defensive baton and machete. All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. A search warrant for the vehicle was sought and a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of additional evidence.
The three males are charged as follows:
Mohanad Hasan (26) of Edmonton, Alberta was charged with:
- Trafficking Cocaine
- Possession of the Proceeds of Crime
- Possession of a Weapon for a dangerous purpose
Jamal Abdullah-Galgalo (30) Edmonton, Alberta was charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Gasser Mahmoud (30) of Edmonton, Alberta was charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking;
- Seven (7) counts of failing to comply with bail conditions including that he not be in the Northwest Territories.
A total of 97 grams of cocaine and $3320 dollars was seized as a result of this investigation. All three accused were held in custody pending future court dates.
