Hay River RCMP seize crack-cocaine and fentanyl, arrest three people on Kátł'odeeche First Nation

Three people are facing charges after Hay River RCMP seized a quantity of illicit drugs from a residence on Kátł'odeeche First Nation reserve on Tuesday.
Shortly before midnight on April 22nd, Hay River RCMP were called to Kátł'odeeche First Nation reserve for a complaint of persons unlawfully in a residence.
Officers attended the residence and found three people inside along with a quantity of suspected crack-cocaine, fentanyl, cash and other evidence of drug trafficking in plain view.
All three parties were arrested. Officers recovered approximately 43 grams of suspected fentanyl, approximately 41 grams of suspected crack-cocaine and over $5000 in cash.
36-year-old Rono Kim of Ontario, 58-year-old Wallace Burke of Hay River and 24-year-old Faith Martel of Kátł'odeeche First Nation are charged with:
• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (2 counts)
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
All three have appeared before a Justice of the Peace and have been remanded into custody.
