Yellowknife RCMP execute search warrant on Bigelow Crescent

Yellowknife RCMP have charged three people after executing a search warrant at a residence on Bigelow Crescent on Saturday.
On May 23rd Yellowknife RCMP received information that a person had been sexually assaulted at a residence on Bigelow Crescent, as well as information that drugs and weapons were present in the house. Yellowknife Specialized Response Unit was engaged and took carriage of the matter.
A warrant to search this residence was obtained and executed on May 24th with support from the G Division Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification section, Territorial Crime Reduction Unit and other resources. Three people were taken into custody.
Evidence was seized from the residence, including a shotgun and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
No injuries were reported.
28-year-old Tevin McNeely of Yellowknife, who was already out on bail and subject to a weapons prohibition order, was charged with:
• Sexual assault, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code
• 2 counts of weapons possession contrary to an order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code
• Forcible Confinement, contrary to section 279(2) of the Criminal Code
• Trafficking of a controlled substance (cocaine), contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• 2 counts of failure to comply with a release order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code
38-year-old Dean McNeely of Yellowknife, also subject to bail and a weapons prohibition order, was charged with:
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code
• 2 counts of failure to comply with a release order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code
• 2 counts of weapons possession contrary to an order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
• Trafficking of a controlled substance (cocaine), contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
61-year-old Maureen McNeely of Yellowknife was charged with:
• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Forcible Confinement, contrary to section 279(2) of the Criminal Code
Tevin and Dean McNeely appeared before a Justice of the Peace and were remanded into custody. Maureen McNeely was released conditionally to appear in court at a later date.
