Communications outage affecting police telephones

The RCMP has become aware of a communications outage that is affecting some telephone communications. The full-scope of this outage is not known at this time however Northwestel is aware of the problem.

There are reports of some phone calls not reaching detachments, however 911 services appear to be functioning.

In the event the public requires non-emergency service and regular phone numbers are not working, proceed directly to your local detachment.

In the event of an emergency only, contact police using 911 services. If police cannot be reached by phone, proceed directly to your local detachment.
