Each year, across the country on the last Sunday of September, communities gather to honour and remember Police and Peace Officers who gave their lives in service to the people of Canada.

As of 2024, the names of 909 fallen officers are engraved on glass tablets which line the perimeter wall of Parliament Hill. Names from three historical police line-of-duty deaths will be added to the tablets in 2025.

In Yellowknife, a ceremony will take place at the G Division Cenotaph, in front of the Yellowknife Detachment on September 28th at 11:00 a.m. We gather to recognize those who have died in service of the North, and to support the loved ones left behind.

Members of the public and media are invited to attend.
