One person has died as a result of a collision on the Ingraham Trail on Friday.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on September 12th, Yellowknife RCMP received a report of a collision on the Ingraham trail near the Prosperous Lake boat launch.

Officers attended the location where bystanders were providing first aid to the rider of a motorcycle, which was the only involved vehicle. First aid continued until paramedics arrived and transported the 35-year-old male victim to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The highway remained closed for a period of time as officers, including a collision analyst, investigated. The road opened later that evening.

Police received notification on September 13th that the victim had died in hospital. The Coroner’s Service has been engaged and this investigation remains ongoing. We extend our condolences to the family of the victim.
