On February 9th, 2026, Fort Providence RCMP laid charges against a 59-year-old woman following a fraud investigation.
On April 4th, 2025, Fort Providence RCMP received a call regarding potentially fraudulent activity at the Big River Service Station.

According to the information received, approximately $30,000 were stolen from the store. Fort Providence RCMP started an investigation.

A month later, on May 12th, 2025, a break and enter occurred at Big River Service Centre.
After reviewing video surveillance from the store, Fort Providence RCMP were able to identify the former general manager as the primary suspect of the break and enter. Based on the evidence collected, the former general manager was also identified as the main suspect in the fraud case that took place at the same location in April 2025.
As a result of this investigation, Fort Providence RCMP charged Linda Croft, 59-year-old from Nova Scotia, with:

• Fraud over $5 000, contrary to section 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• Break and Enter, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

It is believed that the suspect relocated to Nova Scotia. An endorsed warrant has been issued for Linda Croft’s arrest.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Linda Croft, or with information on this incident, is asked to contact the Fort Providence RCMP at 699-1111 or Crime Stoppers at http://www.p3tips.com. In the event of an emergency call, 911.
