Yellowknife RCMP seize drug and firearms during traffic stop

On July 14th, the Yellowknife RCMP seized drugs and firearms during a traffic stop in the area of Tommy Forrest Ball Park, which led to the arrest of three suspects.
At approximately 11:20 a.m., on July 14th, the Yellowknife RCMP were conducting proactive patrols in the area of the ballpark near Reservoir Road when they executed a traffic stop.
Three men were in the vehicle, and provided false identify to police. Once their identities were confirmed, it was found that one of the passengers was wanted under an active arrest warrant issued in Saskatchewan.
The three men were arrested without incident.
A search of their persons and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded handgun, a tactical shotgun, ammunition, and over 50 grams of suspected cocaine, along with additional drug paraphernalia.
As a result, Adrian Lockhart, 47, of Calgary, AB; Destin Mosquito, 28, of North Battleford, SK; and Tristan Pritchard, 29, of North Battleford, SK, have been charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of a firearm/ammunition in a motor vehicle, contrary to section 94(1) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammo without licence, contrary to section 95(1)
Additionally, Tristan Pritchard was charged with:
- Possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized, contrary to section 92(2) of the Criminal Code
- Four counts of Possession of weapons contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
- Two counts of Failure to comply with release order condition
Destin Mosquito was also charged with:
- Possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized, contrary to section 92(2) of the Criminal Code
- Two counts of Possession of weapons contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
Adrian Lockhart was also charged with one count of Possession of weapons contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code.
The investigation is ongoing.
All three suspects were remanded in custody for bail hearing.
