House Fire Under Investigation in Mount Herbert

Queens District RCMP and the Crossroads Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire in the community of Mount Herbert on March 27 at approximately 8:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, first responders found the home fully engulfed in flames. The residence was completely destroyed by the fire. Following efforts to extinguish the blaze, it was determined that human remains of one individual were located inside the home.

The investigation into the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing. At this time, the incident is not believed to be suspicious. Queens District RCMP are working in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Marshal and the Provincial Coroner’s Office.

Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.
