Drug trafficking arrest in Richmond

On April 7, 2026, at approximately 2:45 p.m., police lead by the Prince District Joint Forces Operations (JFO), conducted a search of a residence in Richmond leading to an arrest and seizure of drugs and weapons.
JFO, with Provincial Joint Enforcement Team (JET), RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS), General Investigation Section (GIS), and Prince District RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Route 2 in Richmond, Prince Edward Island. Police arrested 34-year-old Eric Macleod Johnston for possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule I substance.
During the search of the residence, police seized approximately 45 grams of fentanyl, close to one ounce of methamphetamine, and half an ounce of cocaine. Officers also seized a pellet gun, a 12-gauge shotgun, and quantities of ammunition.
Eric Macleod Johnston has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and four weapons related charges. He was remanded into custody and will appear in court again in Summerside on April 15 at 9:30 a.m.
