On April 9, 2026, members of the Joint Enforcement Team (JET) arrested three people on Malpeque Road in Charlottetown as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
As a result of the arrests, officers seized:
Approximately 11 ounces of crystal methamphetamine
Approximately 2 ounces of cocaine
Approximately 1 ounce of fentanyl
A quantity of Canadian currency
The following three suspects were held in custody for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Brandon Arsenault (29) next court date May 7th
Andrew Myers (46) next court date April 15th
Samantha Beer (30) next court date April 15th
“The quantities of drugs seized during this operation are significant and represent a substantial disruption to the local drug trade. Crystal methamphetamine and cocaine are often sold at the street level in quantities as small as a half gram to a gram. Eleven ounces of methamphetamine alone can translate into thousands of individual street-level doses, while two ounces of cocaine similarly represents many doses.
Of particular concern is the seizure of suspected fentanyl. Even in very small amounts, fentanyl poses an extreme risk to public safety due to its potency. One ounce has the potential to produce thousands of doses, increasing the risk of overdose and death within the community.
This enforcement action highlights the ongoing efforts of police to target those responsible for distributing harmful drugs and to reduce the impact of illicit substances on community safety and well-being” said Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis, Commanding Officer of the PEI RCMP.
Police continue to encourage the public to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
The Provincial Joint Enforcement Team (JET) is a stand-alone policing unit comprised of officers from the PEI RCMP, Summerside Police Services, Kensington Police Services and RCMP Eastern Region Federal Policing who work to address drugs and organized crime in PEI.
