JET Enforcement Action in Charlottetown Results in Drug Seizure

On April 30, 2026, the Prince Edward Island Joint Enforcement Team (JET), with assistance from Joint Forces Operations, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Major Crime Unit, Queens District RCMP, and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, conducted a targeted traffic stop in Charlottetown as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
Following the traffic stop, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Rocky Point.
As a result of the search, officers seized approximately five ounces (141.75 grams) of cocaine and a replica revolver. Cocaine is commonly sold in smaller quantities, including by the gram or half gram, indicating the amount seized was consistent with trafficking activity.
A 63-year-old man was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
Kenneth Joseph King (63) has been charged with:
- Trafficking cocaine
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
King remains in custody and will appear in court on Monday May 4, 2026, in Charlottetown.
This investigation remains ongoing.
“The JET continues to target individuals involved in the distribution of illicit drugs and related criminal activity in all communities across Prince Edward Island” said Cpl Gavin Moore, the Media Relations Officer for the PEI RCMP.
The Provincial Joint Enforcement Team (JET) is a stand-alone policing unit comprised of officers from the PEI RCMP, Summerside Police Services, Kensington Police Services and RCMP Eastern Region Federal Policing who work to address drugs and organized crime in PEI.
Police are asking anyone with information about illegal drug activity to contact their local detachment or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-877-222-TIPS (8477) said Cpl Gavin Moore, the Media Relations Officer for the PEI RCMP.
