Two individuals have been arrested, and a quantity of cocaine was seized after the JFO executed a search warrant.

On July 13, 2026, members of the PEI Joint Enforcement Operations Team, Prince District RCMP, Summerside Police and PEI RCMP Major Crime Unit executed a search warrant in East Bideford, PEI. A 63-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. In the search, police seized two ounces of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a prohibited weapon.

“Any time we can get illegal drugs out of our communities, we are making a positive impact on public safety,” said Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis, PEI RCMP Commanding Officer. “This seizure is 56 grams, and this drug is usually sold in fractions of a gram quantities. So this seizure could potentially have been divided into many smaller amounts. This is another great example of the cooperation from the police agencies that make up the JFO,” added Lewis.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit is comprised of members of Summerside Police Services, the Prince District RCMP and Kensington Police Services. It focuses on drug activity in Prince County. If you have information about drugs in your community, please contact your local police detachment. In Prince County the Prince District Joint Forces Operations can be reached at 902-436-9300.
