Joint enforcement operation results in seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine in Summerside

A joint police enforcement operation resulted in the seizure of various drugs from a residence in Summerside. 

On Monday August 10, 2026, the Joint Forces Operations Unit, Summerside Police Services, RCMP General Investigation Services and RCMP Police Dog Services executed a search warrant at a residence in Summerside. Four individuals were arrested at the scene for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl. At the scene approximately 125 grams of fentanyl was seized, along with a small quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and more than $1,000 in cash. 

“These police units continue to collaborate with very positive outcomes being realized in our communities. This is a significant seizure of a highly dangerous drug. The quantity seized in the execution of this warrant could have been in the tens of thousands of doses; getting these drugs off Island streets has potentially saved lives,” says Chief Jason Blaquiere, Chief of Summerside Police Services. 

Charges are pending against a 54-year-old Summerside woman and a 23-year-old man from Moncton, N.B. During the execution of warrant, a 36-year-old Summerside woman was also arrested who was wanted on an unrelated warrant. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
