Over the last eight days PEI RCMP have issued four fines for a total of $20,200 to individuals in connection to the unauthorized sale or distribution of cannabis at Mniku Trading Post in Scotchfort.

RCMP remind Islanders that the only legal way to purchase cannabis in PEI is at a sanctioned Cannabis PEI location. Just like the sale of alcohol and tobacco, cannabis sales are regulated for customer safety” said Cpl Gavin Moore the Media Relations Officer for the PEI RCMP. “Unauthorized cannabis shops can often sell products that have not been inspected or have THC content that is many times more that what can legally be sold. This poses a serious threat to anyone who might take these products.” This investigation is ongoing.
