A 70-year-old Prince County man has died resulting from a two-vehicle collision that occurred just west of Miscouche.

On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at approximately 9:50 PM, East Prince RCMP responded to a 911 call of a two-vehicle collision on Route 2, just west of Miscouche. The call came from the crash detection system of a cell phone located in one of the vehicles. A 70-year-old man, the driver and lone occupant in one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two elderly occupants of the other vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Island EMS and Miscouche Fire Department also responded to the incident. An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist and the Coroner’s Office were engaged to assist the investigation. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision. The investigation to determine cause of the collision is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the family of the victim at this difficult time.
