Weapons, drugs and cash seized during Joint Enforcement Team operation in New Haven

Two individuals have been charged under the Controlled Drugs Substances Act following a planned operation by the Provincial Joint Enforce Team (JET).
On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, just after 2:00 p.m. the JET team executed a search warrant and arrested two individuals in their residence in New Haven. As part of the operation, a search of the home found more than 220 grams of cocaine, one gram of suspected fentanyl and four grams of another substance that is pending verification. Additionally, four firearms, a significant quantity of ammunitions, a large amount cash, and drug paraphernalia were also seized.
Geoffrey Dobson and Amanda Trainor of New Haven, Prince Edward Island have both been charged with:
- Possession for the purposes of traffic cocaine – Section 5(2)
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 - Section 354(1)(a)
- Store a prohibited weapon in a careless manner, S.86(1)
- Store a restricted weapon in a careless manner, S.(86)(1) and s.86(3)(a)(i)
- Store ammunition in a careless manner, S.(86)(1)
- Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, S.88(1)
- Possession of a restricted firearm without being the holder of a license S.91(1)(a)
Geoffrey Dobson was also charged with Possession of a restricted weapon and prohibited weapons while under a prohibition order, S. 117.01.
The individuals have been remanded into custody for a further court hearing. This investigation is ongoing and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST) will be engaged to assist with the weapons charges.
The National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST) is part of the Canadian Firearms Program. It is an integrated unit consisting of the RCMP and municipal police services across Canada.
The Joint Enforcement Team (JET) is a provincially mandated, stand-alone policing unit comprised of officers from the PEI RCMP, RCMP Eastern Region Federal Policing, Summerside Police Services and Kensington Police Services who work to address drugs and organized crime in PEI.

With this seizure the JET team has not only removed a large quantity of possibly harmful drugs, but also a number of weapons, some of which were home-made, or modified. Firearms and the drug trade are often interlinked. Removing these firearms from the streets reduces the opportunity for gun violence on our Island. Great work by our Island JET members.
