Sandy Bay RCMP arrest male wanted on multiple warrants

Sandy Bay RCMP arrested a male wanted on multiple warrants for crimes that occurred in Sandy Bay, SK.
From February 16 to 21, Sandy Bay RCMP received three reports – two of thefts and one of a robbery – at the same business, as well as one break-in at a community facility.
As a result of investigation into these incidents, 25-year-old Edwin Ballantyne from Sandy Bay was charged with:
- one count, robbery with weapon, Section 344, Criminal Code;
- three counts, theft under $5,000, Section 334(b), Criminal Code;
- two counts, wear a disguise with intent to commit an offence, Section 351(2), Criminal Code;
- one count, uttering threats, Section 264.1(1)(a), Criminal Code;
- one count, break and enter with intent, Section 348(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
- one count, theft from mail under $5,000, Section 356(1)(a), Criminal Code.
Multiple warrants for Edwin Ballantyne’s arrest were issued.
On February 23, investigation determined Edwin Ballantyne was in a residence in Sandy Bay. Officers located him hiding in the residence and arrested him without incident.
He was also arrested on a number of arrest warrants, including for assault and failing to comply with probation, related to incidents reported to Sandy Bay RCMP in 2025.
Edwin Ballatyne has been remanded into custody until his next scheduled appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on February 25, 2026.
