Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has charged two males following a homicide in North Battleford, SK.
On March 13, 2026, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of an injured male in a business parking lot off the Highway #16 Bypass in North Battleford, SK.
Officers immediately responded and located the male, who was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.
The male has been identified as a 30-year-old from North Battleford. His family has been notified.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit took carriage of the investigation.
Two adult males who were arrested at the business have been charged in relation to the male’s death.
Further investigation has determined that one of the males assaulted and pointed a firearm at another individual in the business, and the two adult males confined the individual to a room at the business. The victim was later transported to hospital for injuries described as non-life threatening in nature.
Kojac Adams, a 19-year-old male from North Battleford, is charged with:
- one count, first-degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code;
- one count, assault with a weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code; and
- one count, pointing a firearm;Section 87(1), Criminal Code.
Garren Baptiste, a 19-year-old male from North Battleford, is charged with:
- one count manslaughter, Section 236(b), Criminal Code; and
- one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code.
Kojac Adams and Garren Baptiste are scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 16, 2026.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit continues to investigate with the assistance of Battlefords RCMP Detachment, Battlefords RCMP Municipal General Investigation Section (GIS), North Battleford Serious Crimes Unit (SCU), and Battlefords RCMP Forensic Identification Section (FIS).

The male’s death is considered suspicious. As a result, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.

Investigators advise there will be an increased police presence near the Highway #16 Bypass in North Battleford for an undetermined amount of time.
