Two firearms seized by Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT during search warrant in Yorkton

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Team (SERT) – with support from Yorkton RCMP – seized two firearms at a residential property in Yorkton, SK.

On March 9, 2026, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT, assisted by Yorkton RCMP, obtained a warrant and searched a residential property on Russell Drive in Yorkton, SK.

During the search of a residence and vehicle at the property, officers located and seized a loaded prohibited firearm, a non-restricted firearm, ammunition, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Three males were arrested at the property.

37-year-old Tyrone Ackerman, 31-year-old Yahye Mohamed, and 31-year-old Taylor Nardi, all from Fort McMurray, AB, are each charged with:

  • one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of a firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in motor vehicle, Section 94, Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, Section 95(a), Criminal Code.

Tyrone Ackerman was additionally charged with four counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code. 

Tyrone Ackerman and Taylor Nardi are scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on March 25, 2026. Yahye Mohamed is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on March 30, 2026.
