Weyburn RCMP charge man with break-and-enter, possessing stolen property

Weyburn RCMP have charged an adult male following a report of a break-in at a rural residence near Trossachs on March 14, 2026.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the residence. Surveillance cameras on the property assisted police in identifying a suspect and his vehicle. The suspect was located at a residence in Minton and arrested on March 15.

Upon further investigation, a search warrant was executed at the Minton property. Officers located and seized items reported as stolen from the Trossachs residence, as well as property linked to other reported break-ins and thefts, including a truck and an ATV. Weyburn RCMP informed Weyburn Police Service of the recovered items, as some of them were reported as stolen in the City of Weyburn.

As a result of investigation, a 41-year-old Michael Ehrhardt from Minton is charged with:

  • three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, breaking, entering and committing, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code;
  • one count, theft under $5,000, Section 334(b), Criminal Code;
  • one count, motor vehicle theft, Section 333.1, Criminal Code;
  • one count, failure to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, mischief under $5,000, Section 430(4), Criminal Code.

He was remanded into custody until his next scheduled court appearance on March 25.

Weyburn RCMP continue to investigate.
