On March 28, 2026, Battlefords RCMP conducted a traffic stop in Battleford in relation to ongoing Unity RCMP investigation. 

The occupants of the vehicle – an adult male and adult female – were arrested.

Officers had obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. It was towed to a secure police facility and subsequently thoroughly searched by officers. They located and seized approximately 126 grams of suspected methamphetamine hidden in a pizza box inside the vehicle. The substances will undergo further testing.

Resulting from continued investigation, 70-year-old Melvin Abramson from Wilkie, SK and 26-year-old Micayla Jimmy from North Battleford, SK have each been charged with one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Melvin Abramson and Micayla Jimmy appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 30, 2026 (Information #90596866 and #90596865).
