Three arrested after investigation in Melville

Three people have been charged after an investigation into a robbery led Melville RCMP to seize weapons, stolen property and illicit drugs at a residence.

On May 22, 2026, Melville RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on 2 Avenue East in Melville. The search warrant was related to the investigation into an incident that occurred on May 21. It was reported a male robbed an individual, assaulted them and discharged a firearm. The victim did not report serious physical injuries to police.

Officers arrested five people without incident at the residence.

Officers located and seized two BB guns – one that resembled a semi-automatic weapon and one that resembled a handgun, a magazine, ammunition, cash and a small quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine. They also located two bicycles reported as stolen from a business in Melville on May 21.

As a result of continued investigation, 44-year-old Tyrone Sayer from Regina is charged with:

- one count, possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized, Section 92(2), Criminal Code;

- one count, assault with a weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code.

- one count, robbery, Section 344, Criminal Code;

- one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;

- two counts, possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized, Section 92(2), Criminal Code;

- one count, discharge firearm with intent, Section 244, Criminal Code;

- two counts, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;

- three counts, fail to comply with undertaking condition, Section 145(4)(a), Criminal Code;

- nine counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code; and

- one count, pointing a firearm, Section 87(1), Criminal Code.

46-year-old Vincent Sayer from Melville is charged with:

- three counts, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;

- one count, fail to comply with a probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code; and

- two counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.

33-year-old Maija Eashappie from Regina is charged with:

- three counts, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;

- one count, possession – cocaine, Section 4(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and

- one count, possession – methamphetamine, Section 4(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Two other individuals arrested were released without charge.

Tyrone Sayer, Vincent Sayer and Maija Eashappie are scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on May 25, 2026.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, Regina Serious Crimes Unit, Police Dog Services, and Yorkton Forensic Identification Services assisted with this investigation.
