Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU) has charged a 30-year-old male with manslaughter following a homicide on Saulteaux First Nation, SK.
On June 5, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of an injured male at a residence on Saulteaux First Nation.
Officers immediately responded and located the injured male, who was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Leonard Moccasin from Saulteaux First Nation. His family has been notified, and victim services have been made available to them.
The death was considered suspicious, and officers arrested an adult male at the scene. Saskatchewan RCMP’s HIU took carriage of the investigation.
As a result of investigation, 30-year-old Bradley Redbear from Saulteaux First Nation was charged with one count, manslaughter, Section 236(a) of the Criminal Code on June 6, 2026.
Bradley Redbear is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 8, 2026.
