Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigating suspicious death on Mistawasis First Nation

On June 4, 2026 at approximately 6:20 p.m., Shellbrook RCMP received a report of a deceased adult male in a rural area on Mistawasis First Nation.
Shellbrook RCMP immediately responded and secured the scene for further investigation. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating the death, which is considered suspicious. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is assisting with this ongoing investigation and are working to identify the deceased.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is asking anyone who observed suspicious activity or individuals in Mistawasis First Nation or Shellbrook areas between the evening of Monday, June 1 and the evening of Thursday, June 4, to please call 310‑RCMP.

Investigators advise there will be an increased police presence near the Mistawasis First Nation and Shellbrook area for an undetermined amount of time.
