White Butte RCMP: fentanyl, methamphetamine seized after report of suspicious vehicle

A male has been charged after illicit drugs, cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized by White Butte RCMP.
On June 24, 2026 at approximately 3:00 a.m., White Butte RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle with an occupant parked at a residence in St. Joseph’s.
Officers responded and located the vehicle parked outside the residence with a driver inside. Investigation determined that the male driver had several outstanding warrants in Alberta and Manitoba. Officers also observed illicit drugs in the vehicle in plain view. The driver was arrested without incident. During a search of the vehicle, officers located and seized 55 grams of fentanyl, and 27 grams of methamphetamine. Cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and 6 grams of fentanyl were also seized during a search of the driver.
As a result of continued investigation, 44-year-old Harold Olson from Wapella has been charged with:
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5000, Section 354(1)(a);
- two counts, possession – fentanyl, Section 4(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Olson was also arrested on warrants from Alberta RCMP for charges including fail to comply, and from Manitoba RCMP for charges including operation of a motor vehicle while impaired (Information # 90565320).
Olson will appear in Regina Provincial Court on July 3, 2026.
