Estevan/Carnduff RCMP: weapons seized, male charged after firearms investigation

An adult male is facing multiple weapons charges following a firearms investigation near Oxbow, SK.
On July 4, 2026, Estevan/Carnduff RCMP received a report that an adult male had pointed a firearm at an individual at a rural property approximately 16 kilometers southwest of Oxbow.
No physical injuries were reported to police.
On July 8, 2026, officers from Estevan/Carnduff RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team executed a search warrant at the residence on the rural property.
Officers with Saskatchewan RCMP’s Yorkton Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT), Moose Jaw Crime Reduction Team (CRT), Carlyle RCMP and Broadview/Moosomin RCMP also assisted.
During a search of the residence, officers located and seized four loaded firearms, and one imitation firearm.
Two individuals were arrested.
As a result of investigation, 45-year-old Curtis Biberdorf from the RM of Enniskillen, is charged with:
- one count, assault with a weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;
- five counts, unsafe storage of firearms, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
- five counts, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, using imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, Section 85(2)(a), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code; and
- one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, Section 91(2), Criminal Code.
Curtis Biberdorf appeared in Weyburn Provincial Court on July 9, 2026 (Information #90588465).
The second individual arrested was released without charge.
Estevan/Carnduff RCMP continue to investigate.
