Ahtahkakoop RCMP: male charged with sexual interference

Ahtahkakoop RCMP have charged a man with forcible confinement and sexual interference.

Investigation determined an adult male had been communicating with a teenaged girl on social media. On July 12, 2026, he met the girl on Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation. He left with her in his vehicle. The incident was immediately reported to police.

Officers determined their location. The girl was located and the male was arrested at a residence in Nipawin approximately two hours after receiving the initial call. 

As a result of continued investigation, 22-year-old Drann McKay from Nipawin is charged with one count, unlawful confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code and one count, sexual interference, Section 151, Criminal Code.

He appeared in Nipawin Provincial Court on July 16, 2026 (Information #90569183).

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Nipawin RCMP, Forensic Identification Services and Serious Crimes Unit assisted with this investigation.
