Maple Creek RCMP investigating fatal collision

On July 20, 2026 at approximately 3:20 p.m., Maple Creek RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway #1, near Piapot, SK.

Investigation determined a semi was parked on the side of the highway and an SUV collided with it. Three occupants in the SUV were declared deceased by EMS at the scene. They have been identified as a 49-year-old female, a 72-year-old female, and a 75-year-old male, all from Estevan, SK. Their families have been notified. 

A fourth occupant of the SUV was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious in nature.

The driver and passenger in the semi did not report injuries to police.

Highway #1 was closed for a period of time but has since been reopened.

Maple Creek RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
