Unity RCMP asking the public to report sightings of Ricky Vidnes

Unity RCMP are asking the public to report sightings and information on the whereabouts of 30-year-old Ricky Vidnes.

On August 17, 2026, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Unity RCMP witnessed an adult male who they knew to be an unauthorized driver, get into the driver’s seat of a vehicle in Unity. Officers attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop. Eventually the vehicle collided with a building and the adult male fled on foot. No injuries were reported as a result of this collision. 

As a result of continued investigation, 30-year-old Ricky Vidnes is wanted on warrant by Unity RCMP for charges including:

• one count, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code;
• one count, flight from peace officer, Section 320.17, Criminal Code; and
• one count, fail to comply with release order, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code.

Ricky Vidnes is described as:

• Height: 5 ft 11 in 
• Weight: 146 lbs
• Eye colour: brown
• Hair colour: brown
• Other descriptors: triangle shaped tattoo on right hand

Unity RCMP continue to investigate.
