Biggar RCMP asks public to report sightings of male

On August 19, 2026 around 3:00 p.m., a male prisoner fled from Biggar RCMP as he was being transferred from the Biggar RCMP detachment into a police vehicle. The male was arrested earlier that day for breaching a release order condition and driving while prohibited.

Biggar RCMP searched for the male with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services and a remotely piloted aircraft system. The male was not located. Biggar RCMP continued to investigate.

Later that same day, Biggar RCMP received a report of a theft from a residence in Biggar. Investigation determined a motor bike was stolen. The motor bike is described as a CRT 250. The top of the motorcycle is black and the bottom is blue. It has Rockstar energy drink stickers on it. Investigation determined the theft occurred around 5:00 p.m. on August 19.

As a result of continued investigation, 34-year-old Joshua Meszaros is charged with:

• one count, escape lawful custody, Section 145(1), Criminal Code; and
• one count, theft under $5000, Section 334(b), Criminal Code. 

A warrant has been issued for Joshua Meszaros’s arrest. Biggar RCMP continue work to locate him and ask the public to report sightings and information on his whereabouts. 

 Joshua Meszaros is described as:

• Height: 5’10”
• Weight: 215 lbs
• Eye colour: brown
• Hair colour/style: black
