Two males wanted by Wakaw RCMP following firearms incident on One Arrow First Nation

Wakaw RCMP are asking the public for help in locating two wanted males.

On September 16, 2026 around 2:50 p.m., Wakaw RCMP received multiple reports related to two armed males on One Arrow First Nation.

Wakaw RCMP responded and One Arrow First Nation enacted a community lock down.

Investigation determined an altercation occurred between two males. Both males were in possession of a firearm. Following the altercation, both males fled from the area on foot. The firearms were not discharged, and no injuries have been reported to police in relation to this incident.

Wakaw RCMP searched the area for the male suspects with the assistance of a remotely piloted aircraft system. At this time, the males have not been located.

As a result of investigation, 18-year-old Shakobey Sanderson and 23-year-old Bruce Matchap, both from One Arrow First Nation, are each charged with:

  • one count, pointing a firearm, Section 87(1), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code.

Bruce Matchap is additionally charged with three counts, fail to comply with release order condition, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code.

Warrants have been issued for Shakobey Sanderson and Bruce Matchap’s arrests. Wakaw RCMP continue work to locate them and ask the public to report sightings and information on their whereabouts.

Shakobey Sanderson is described as:

  • Height: 6’0”
  • Weight: 165 lbs
  • Eye colour: brown
  • Hair colour/style: black

Bruce Matchap is described as:

  • Height: 6’0”
  • Weight: 180 lbs
  • Eye colour: brown
  • Hair colour/style: black
  • Other descriptors: multiple tattoos on his face

Bruce commonly goes by the name “BJ”.

Wakaw RCMP continue to investigate.
