Saskatchewan RCMP: wanted male charged after theft, fleeing from police

A wanted male has been arrested after he fled from police in a stolen truck after a fuel theft.

On September 21, 2026 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Punnichy RCMP received a report of a fuel theft from a business in Raymore. The suspect had fled the scene. A short time later, Punnichy RCMP located the suspect on Kawacatoose First Nation in a truck. Investigation determined the truck was stolen from a rural property in the RM of Mount Hope on September 20. Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop. The stolen truck did not stop and fled from police.

Saskatchewan RCMP officers from Wynyard, Wadena, Southey, Melville, and Fort Qu’Appelle Detachments, along with Lanigan Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan, and Yorkton Police Dog Services were all engaged to assist. 

Officers set up a tire deflation device at the intersection of Highway #15 and Township Road 270A, which the stolen truck ran over. Shortly after, it came to a stop. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the truck, was arrested. 

No injuries were reported to police.

As a result of investigation, 42-year-old Tyler Ross from Regina is charged with:

• one count, flight from peace officer, Section 320.17, Criminal Code; 
• one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
• two counts, fail to comply with release order condition, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code.

Tyler Ross was also arrested on warrants from Wynyard RCMP for charges including theft of truck, and theft under $5,000. These charges were laid in relation to a September 2026 investigation. 

He is scheduled to appear in court in Punnichy on September 22, 2026 (Information #90508680 and #90642272).

Punnichy RCMP continue to investigate.
