Melville RCMP investigating fatal collision

On October 2, 2026 at approximately 7:10 p.m., Melville RCMP received a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Highway #10, approximately nine kilometers northeast of Melville.
Officers responded along with local fire and EMS. The pedestrian was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 73-year-old female from the Melville detachment area. Her family has been notified.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. Both the driver and passenger were assessed at the scene by EMS.
Melville RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.
As of October 5 at 8:45 a.m., Saskatchewan RCMP reports there have been 72 fatal collisions with 87 fatalities on roadways policed by Saskatchewan RCMP in 2026.
