“It’s important for everyone to regularly review their financial statements and account activity, even when a trusted person has been granted Power of Attorney. Anyone could become a victim. Warning signs of potential financial exploitation may include unexplained withdrawals, missing funds, sudden changes to banking arrangements, and/or unpaid bills despite available funds. If you or a family member believe you’re the victim of financial exploitation or a similar offence, please contact your local RCMP detachment at 310-RCMP,” said Staff Sergent Billy Groenen with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Central District General Investigation Section.
